The Second Class

The Class 3 of 24 Telecommunication class in School of Electronic and Information Engineering carried out face-to-face activities for tutors (head teachers)

Nov 14, 2024

On November 11th, the School of Electronic and Information Engineering held a face-to-face activity for tutors (class teachers) in the conference room of Linjiang Building. The topic of this lecture is optical control technology on silicon substrate and integrated photonic device research. The keynote speaker is Chen Yufei, the class director of Class 3, Class 24 Telecommunications, and the instructor Zhang Weidong and all the students of the class attend the lecture. The lecture is presided over by the monitor Cheng Zhiwei.

In the lecture, Chen Yufei explained the industrial process of the chip and the process and results of light regulation. He introduced the concept and importance of chips through the chips of electronic products such as mobile phones and computers that are often used in daily life. He also briefly introduced the whole process of chip generation in simple and clear language, from silicon oxidation to silicon dioxide to photoresist to lithography, ion implantation and finally ion deposition, so that everyone had a preliminary understanding of the chip industry. He also matched these industrial processes with students' courses, thus inspiring students to take college courses seriously from the beginning of their freshman year.

At the end of the lecture, Chen Yufei simply and relatively comprehensively analyzed the prospects and advantages and disadvantages of photons and electronics, as well as the necessity and significance of the development of optics, which provided a certain reference for the students to choose the professional diversion, and further stimulated the enthusiasm of the students to grasp the professional learning and exploration.

This lecture not only narrowed the relationship between teachers and students, but also deepened the students' understanding of chip and light regulation related technology, which laid a good foundation for students to choose majors, study professional courses and research topics in the later stage.
